RUI LOPES GRAÇA
Rui Lopes Graça began his dance studies with a scholarship from the Gulbenkian Ballet School and the Vocational Training Centre of the National Ballet of Portugal where he became a soloist dancer, having danced much of their repertoire in classical ballets and contemporary.
In July 1999, participated in the International Course for Choreographers and Composers at the University of Bretton Hall, England, directed by Robert Cohan, Nigel Osborne, Ivan Kramar and Gale Law.
Since 1996, has choreographed among others, for the National Ballet of Portugal as invited and resident choreographer, Ballet du Rhin, Gulbenkian Ballet, Portuguese Company of Contemporary Dance, Dance With The Difference Company and his one independent project, among others.
Also choreographed for the Expo'98, Porto 2001 European Capital of Culture, Cultural Center of Belem and international festivals. His work has been presented in the U.S., Netherlands, Norway, France, Israel, Brazil, Scotland, Cuba, Spain, Italy, Mexico and Turkey.
Interested in furthering intercultural dialogue through meeting various aesthetic of dance, choreographed in 2011, Gold - for the National Company of Song and Dance of Mozambique and Favorable Landscapes in 2012 for Angola Contemporary Dance Company with presentations in Angola, Portugal, Cuba, Israel and Spain.
He is currently Special Projects Department Coordinator at the National Ballet of Portugal and gest choreographer. Is also, regularly invited to teach at the Dance University of Lisbon and at Stavanger University in Norway.
Won the award, best choreography 2012, by the Portuguese Society of Authors with the piece “Perda Preciosa”, for the National
Ballet of Portugal, in partnership with the theater director André E. Teodósio.

RUI LOPES GRAÇA
Natural de Torres Novas, Rui Lopes Graça formou-se em dança como bolseiro da Escola do Ballet Gulbenkian e do Centro de Formação Profissional da Companhia Nacional de Bailado.
Em 1985, ingressou no elenco desta companhia e tornou-se bailarino solista em 1996. Dançou grande parte do repertório da CNB, em bailados clássicos e contemporâneos.
Em Julho de 1999, participou no Curso Internacional para Coreógrafos e Compositores da Universidade de Bretton Hall, em Inglaterra, dirigido por Robert Cohan, Nigel Osborne, Ivan Kramar e Gale Law.
Desde 1996, tem coreografado para a Companhia Nacional de Bailado como coreografo convidado e residente, Ballet Gulbenkian, Companhia Portuguesa de Bailado Contemporâneo, Ballet da Ópera de Estrasburgo, Grupo Dançando com a Diferença, Companhia Nacional de Canto e Dança de Moçambique, Companhia de Dança Contemporanea de Angola e Companhia Rui Lopes Graça, entre outras.
Coreografou igualmente para a Expo’98, Porto 2001 Capital Europeia da Cultura, Centro Cultural de Belém. Os seus trabalhos têm sido apresentados nos EUA, Holanda, Escócia, Espanha, França, Noruega, Brasil, Moçambique, Angola, Itália, Cuba, Israel, México e Turquia.
Atualmente, é coordenador de Projetos Especiais da Companhia Nacional de Bailado.
É também convidado regularmente a coreografar na Escola Superior de Dança e na Universidade de Stavanger na Noruega.
Prémio Sociedade Portuguesa de Autores, melhor coreografia de 2012, com “Perda Preciosa” para a Companhia Nacional de Bailado em parceria com André E. Teodósio.
