Wreckage
This work refers to the idea of ??wandering, to wander through space, the constant tension between leaving and staying. On stage are constructed spatial structures made of rought materials, constituting a sort of mobile city in continuous state of transposition, to reconstitute itself entirely from each fragment of its architecture.
Emphasizing the interaction between moving image and sound, the work is developed as a moving sculpture, allowing the reintroduction of small oscillations caused and suggested by the imperfection of the materials used. Sound activation of materials works as a process of learning from the integration of errors and the use of active listening to the presentation space. The basic procedure for this performance is the observation of the behavior of some common materials, such as metal or wood, for example, when subjected to handling, looking for subtle variations through modulation or noise shaping. Last but not least, the duration or time are evoked by repetition, which allows the accumulation of layers of sound. Disassociated from representation or intentionality in its production, the sound mostly appers as the result of visual, spatial or direct activation of materials, combined into sound textures that insinuate themselves into memory. I have a certain obsession with the reutilization of materials that are reconfigured in many different works. Each new work is emerging in the debris of the previous work, allowing the progressive sound and visual reuse of materials that will be disintegrating and reintegrating thenselves over time.
