EIRA 1993-2013: creating, supporting and promoting contemporary dance in Portugal and beyond for two decades. EIRA is an artistic structure based in Lisbon dedicated to the development and promotion of dance and contemporary dance. After 25 years of activity, EIRA is now recognized, nationally and internationally, as a reference, both as a structure for creation, production and artistic programming in the area of contemporary dance, as well as an important meeting point for artists and projects.

Assembly proceeds from a lab and role-play open to local communities to experiment and develop a project that is then presented as a performance.
Local community issues are addressed in the lab and an ‘assembly’ organised with a local group.
Each performance is directly linked with the local community’s background, history, stories and heritage, and is unique and different each time it is performed in a new context.
